David is a full time, British artist living in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
His inspiration is taken from the vivid colours, unique light and rugged landscape of the British Isles, especially Cornwall and nearby Peak District.
David enjoys the flexibility and consistency of oils to create his work. He is able to communicate visually with suggestions rather than trying to describe everything in precise detail and captures the fleeting effects of light and movement in his work.
His painting process usually starts from outdoor oil sketches to gain familiarity and a connection with a location. This he finds key to developing his work. Often this can be the finished painting, or they are used as a reference for work completed in the studio.
