A plein air commission painting is a custom artwork created outdoors on location, capturing a specific landscape or scene directly from life .
Unlike studio work from photographs or sketches, painting en plein air (“in the open air”) requires the artist to work swiftly against changing weather, shifting sunlight, and environmental elements.
Imagine having a bespoke oil painting of your favourite view in the Peak District or your loved one fly fishing on The River Derwent captured in paint.

At a cost of £395.00 including a frame David will produce a 10 × 8” oil on panel*
If the location to be painted is over 30 miles from his studio(postcode S20 5EP) an extra fee per extra mile would apply of 55p.

Painting Size & Type
10 × 8” oil on panel.
Framed size normally 13 × 11” although this may vary only slightly dependant on the frame moulding I have available.
Cost
Standard cost is £395.00 including frame and Free UK Postage(David will deliver by hand foc if nearby).
50% to be paid when ordering and the remaining 50% on completion and you are happy with the painting - this will be billed via a separate final invoice.
Additional Charges
- 55p per each extra mile if the location is more than 30 miles from my studio(postcode S20 5EP).
-Additional charges may apply if a bespoke frame is required other than those shown in the Frames Section.
Any additional charges will be included in the final invoice.
Timescales
The painting will normally be completed within 7 - 10 days dependant on Location, weather conditions and my availability. If you require the painting within 7 days please contact me to discuss further before placing an order. Thank you.
